Welcome to the PFA

Welcome to the Parent Friend Association (PFA)
The Parent Friend Association (PFA) plays a vital role in fostering a strong and positive relationship between home and school. All parents and carers are automatically members of the PFA and are warmly encouraged to get involved.
Each year, an Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held early in the autumn term, during which a committee is elected to lead the Association. Regular newsletters are shared to keep families informed of upcoming events and initiatives.
The success of the PFA depends on the enthusiastic support, involvement, and ideas of our parent and carer community. Whether it’s volunteering at events, offering suggestions, or helping behind the scenes, your contribution is always valued.
The PFA funds and supports a wide range of activities and resources, enriching the school experience for all pupils. The academy benefits significantly from the fundraising efforts of the Association each year.

PFA Achievements and Upcoming Events

The Oaklands PTA has had an incredibly successful year, raising over £13,000 through a wide range of events including discos, bingo nights, quiz nights, raffles, and our ever-popular summer fete. Thanks to this amazing fundraising, the PTA contributed £9,000 towards the creation of a new Sensory Room, ensuring all pupils can benefit from a calm, engaging and supportive space. Additional funds have supported projects such as the Oaklands Allotment, school crossing patrol, classroom resources, and a school trip fund to benefit all year groups.
Looking ahead, the PTA has a packed calendar of exciting events for the 2025–2026 school year, including family bingo nights, the Santa and his Reindeers visit, Easter and summer discos, the O Factor talent show, and an end-of-year summer fete. There will also be special themed events such as Speed Quiz nights, Music Bingo, and a Colour Run, as well as gift rooms for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas.
The PTA continues to play a vital role in enriching school life, funding key projects, and bringing our school community together. We are so grateful to all our parents, carers, and staff who give their time and support to make these events possible. Anyone wishing to get involved or volunteer is always warmly welcomed.
